Thoughts on Economics, and Coding for Humans

Welcome to my blog!
My name is Martin Alfaro. I'm a PhD in Economics, currently working as an Associate Professor at University of Alberta (Canada).

This blog is about:

  • Economics: with a focus on companies' strategies and international trade.

  • Programming: , complemented with packages from and .

  • Software and Technology: Anything I find worth sharing.

APPROACH
I adopt an informal writing style to add a conversational tone to the content. When it comes to programming and software, the posts have a strong practical orientation. Some may eventually evolve into more comprehensive notes, which will be available here. As for Economics, the posts are mainly preliminary advances of my research and teaching materials.
